Can I offer free calls?
PaidLine gives you two ways to let callers talk to you without paying your full rate. You control the First Caller Discount. The 30-second grace period is built into every call automatically.
First Caller Discount
The First Caller Discount makes it easy for someone new to give you a try. You choose how much to take off your per-minute rate for their first call, from a small discount all the way up to 100% off.
- Set it to 100% off to make the first call from every new caller free.
- Set a partial discount, such as 25% or 50% off, to lower the barrier for new callers while still earning on that first call.
- It applies once per caller. Only the first call from each new caller is discounted. After that, calls are billed at your standard rate.
What does the caller pay?
When you set the discount to 100% off, the caller's first call is free except for a flat $1 platform fee charged by PaidLine. With a partial discount, the caller pays your discounted rate plus the platform fee.

- Free intro or discovery calls for new clients
- A risk-free first session that helps new callers trust you
- Promotions, like "Your first call is on me"
The 30-second grace period
On top of any discount you set, every call on PaidLine comes with a 30-second grace period. Calls that end before 30 seconds aren't charged. It's designed for:
- Quick audio checks ("Can you hear me?")
- Wrong numbers
- "Is now a good time?" check-ins
- Accidental dials and pocket dials

How the two work together
- First Caller Discount: optional, set by you. Applies to the first call from each new caller, up to 100% off. The caller pays a $1 platform fee.
- 30-second grace period: always on, for every call. Calls under 30 seconds aren't billed.
